i just drove around for one hour
okay not really.
so today is my very first day behind the wheel of a moving car. and no, i don't mean the
gulong wheel. basta yun. period.
grabe while many people in my class can drive na, i have been stuck at envy for so long. but thanks to my dad's being away for a few weeks, driving here i come!
it all started when i applied for my student's permit together with my brother, my mom (she has to be there to give my brother consent), and this guy from my dad's office who's friends with LTO people. mmmmmm, corruption.
LTO is a cesspool of probable long cancer patients. there were people smoking everywhere! so second-hand smoke was wafting all around. aren't you supposed to NOT smoke in public places? basta it was so offensive. and my head was dizzy from all the smoke.
and then you have to wait for your turn for the picture-taking session! i can almost hear tyra banks screaming "WORK IT" somewhere. but then again, LTO is a government agency. so you have to settle for a webcam. then i was standing in front of the camera for n minutes, then the guy working there shooed me! was my picture already taken? why was i not informed? wala man lang "smile!" grabe i think i was looking at elsewhere. hello, to have your picture taken in front of a lot of people isn't exactly america's next top model moment!
and then nakuha ko na the next day yung SP ko while yung ibang tao were waiting for their's last week pa! haynaku, red tape talaga. tapos my mom had her license renewed. may medical and drug testing daw. oh no this will take looooong, i thought. but no! after 20 minutes or so, she came out with all smiles! there is nooooo way that she could be finished. then i asked her what happened. all she had to do was to fill up some forms and voila! instant certificate with a doctor's signature! this is why we have a lot of bad drivers out there. red tape talaga, oo.
and today i went with my brother for our first hour of driving lessons. basta it was fun. para lang akong naglalaro. maybe because may instructor pa sa tabi ko? basta, fun! and muntik na akong bumangga sa isang truck! and ang hirap pala kung hindi perfect yung outfit mo pag nagmamaneho. it's uber hard to step on the gas!
and congrats to daniel for his license na. :D

It's so my birthday today :D
Okay that was blunt. :D
Anyhow, I feel so old. Hello. Welcome to the 'wise' people's club? Bah. 'Welcome to the legally responsible's club' is more fitting.
I spent the last few hours of my last day as a minor eating a lot. A LOT. But before the endless gorging (okay di naman endless), I watched Block 14's (+ Nursing's) play for the second time. And I was blown away. KAKANIN. And NAKARIRIMARIM (okay isang taon na ako sa FIlipino block pero hindi ko alam kung ano ibig sabihin nito). Ang galing ng mga people. Somebody, however, partly ruined the experience for me. Nasa tabi ko siya, tili nang tili. Pwede ba, ikaw kaya yung nag-direct noh. Di ka pa ba nagsasawa sa mga eksenang ganun?
Basta. Ang ganda ng play.
Before the start of the play, Miggy handed Bea something which in turn she handed me. And it was just one of the things that I wanted for my birthday. Meron na akong Wicked ni Gregory Maguire! Yes naman. Salamat sa Mean Girls and Miggy and Danni and Poch. :D
Tapos nung pauwi na ako, naasara ko ng slight kasi umuulan. So I ran towards Rob which is like 50 blocks away. Kidding. Malapit lang naman pero the rain made the trip hard. Tapos medyo nalungkot din ako kasi ako lang mag-isa diba. So I made a trip to McDo to soothe my rumbling (and rapidly expanding) tummy. At grabe, ang tanga nung taong nag-serve sa akin. Grabe bakit kaya siya ganun. Baka sabaw na siya dahil ng closing time na ng Rob. Anyway, my very benevolent and magnanimous self forgave him. Hahaha.
Tapos nung natapos ko na yung yummy 5-piece treat ko, dumating na rin sa wakas mga roomies ko while I was packing my stuff. So nag-bonding session muna kami kasi wala kaming magawa. Wala kasing TV due to Nil's perpetual slaving in front of that flickering boob tube. Haha. Joke lang, Nil.
Then it was around 11:30 that I decided to go to Starbucks at mag-transform into an adult there. Ano ba itong mga sinusulat ko. Anyway, birthday ko naman eh. Pero nung palabas na ako ng dorm, na-realize ko na umuulan pala. So I decided to return to our room to get an umbrelly. Tapos nakasalubong ko sina JF at Nil nung paakyat ako. Tinanong ko sila kung saan sila papunta. Ministop daw. Tapos ang suplado and secret-y nila all of a sudden na kani-kanina lang ay chummy chummy kaming tatlo. Fishy fishy.
So ambilis ko sa Starbucks. Nung mga 12;30 na, I decided it was late and I had to rest kasi I have a 5:15 flight home. So nasa dorm na ako. Then when I opened the door, maligayang 'Happy Birthday!' ang bumati sa aking mga tainga. They had this cake (presumably from Ministop) with this one candle on top of it. And I realized that I was really blessed to have friends like them. They really waited for me to arrive home just to sing to me. Awwww. Tapos they made me make a wish. For the second time. (kasi yung first time ay the day before when I brought pizza)
Tapos nagpakababoy ako. And then true to BR sense, I went to sleep with smile on my gluttonous face.
Laking gulat ko na lang nung pag-gising ko ay 3:45 na. Shucks! Dapat nasa airport na ako by 4:30 or esle my going home will be compromised. :( So panic galore na ito.
I checked in at 4:36! At closed na yung counter. And I was the last one to book. OMG super saved naman ang feeling ko na umabot ako sa cut! Buti na lang at may natitira pang seat! Sobrang tuwa ko talaga. And they were already boarding! So no waiting time talaga. What's funny is I'm never late pagdating sa airport. I'm usually there hours before. Maybe because it was too early. Basta. Ayun at masaya akong umuuwi.
Pero ang isang taong gustong-gusto kong bumati sa akin ay hindi pa nagpaparamdam. Baka di niya alam. Or ayaw niya lang. Ang sad naman.
Yun. Birthday adventure. Nothing special. Just a day full of blessings.
I really expected physical manifestations of my being a new adult. Brittle bones? Ancient-sounding voice? Earthy, musky smell? Pero wala naman. Duh, ang drama naman kung ganun. Sabi ng ni JF, 'You're just a day older.' I somehow thought that there was this giant net above you, waiting to rip the instant you turn 18, burying you under all the responsibilities and all that jazz. But I've only been 18 for less than a day. Ano nga ba ang alam ko?
Miggy and Bean brought their GFs sa play. And they were all lovey-dovey and cozy and all that. Nainggit naman ako at sa wakas ay nagkaroon din ako ng loser moment. I want one, tooooooo. Dumating ka na kasiiiiiiiiii. Or pansinin mo na ako. Ano baaaaaa. Hahaha. LOSER. This is what you get for being friends with the likes of Maui and Cy. :D
Happy birthday to me! :D

My Y!M Hates Me (A Day Late)
Or at least it doesn't work. When I desperately want to sign in, it just coughs up a message saying that there has been an error, WTF. I need me some Micah...
Anyway, the enrollment today (for the 2104) was fun. Okay I have yet to pick out a prospective buddy, but what's the use, right?
Eating that 5-piece Royal Treat Meal B for dinner and lunch the next day is kinda...fun. All the green makes me so exuberant. So yes, green stuff rock! And don't even think about slime when you're actually eating it. The green honey mustard royale dip for the nuggets makes life worthwhile. HAHAHA ang babaw ko.
So the whole reg thing was pretty fun. And it went pretty smoothly too! It's just that we have to shout for Nil every single time this foreign form pops up. Grabe and mahal na ng tuition nila ngayon. And the STFAP bracketing is way more serious na. Scary... :D
So there was this student who was with his mom. And when the pair approached us, we somehow (or ako lang ba to?) felt that something was amiss. So the mom asked us, "What does this blocking mean?" So we had to explain. But they were both shaking their heads and saying NOs under their breath. Honestly it was like a movie. Then the mom asked us how the blocking was made, and even if iMed students of old (probably all) had some theories concerning this mythical procedure we had nothing substantial to offer. So she asked for the Dean. Oh no. A little (or a lot) while later, it turned out that she really had her son transfer from 13 to 14. So yeah, no OJ for you.
Another story. Another mom+kid pair was approaching the table (basta yung reg table) and Ivan said that he recognized the guy! Ooooh, he didn't think that there was somebody from Southville who got in. But then again, maybe it was just a case of mistaken identity. "Baka kamukha niya lang." So when the kid signed on the pad thingy, we asked him about his high school. "Southville." So we had to laugh at Ivan. Then the guy looked up and exclaimed, "Ivan!" Tapos sabi ni Ivan hindi daw niya personally kilala yun guy. So Ivan must really be famous, no?
Later, THE mom approached the table about the last steps. She even said that she IS a doctor. So bonding na ba ito? Uh. No.
Mom: I really had fun when I was a Med student then. But I guess you guys aren't having fun.
Us: *secret :D*
Hay naku. Ang fun talaga mag-bonding with block 13. Sayang not all of us got to be there. SOME had to attend PI, hay naku.
So the day ended with a terrific waffle with whipped cream and caramel glaze, and iced WM. So now I'm broke. Haha. Also, I (accidentally?) discovered a secret. Hmmm. Pleasant, but surprising. But not totally out of character. Judging much? I hope not. Yee!

Heroes Boo Boo
Mohinder ties a lousy tourniquet. He makes it too loose. The whole point is to impede circulation to make vessels more pronounced, right? Or basta they ought to be tight. Duh. :D

Momma's Day
So I just arrived from church. There was this election prayer that really looked like St. Francis of Assisi's prayer. And there was this Mother's day special. All the mom's were called down to the pulpit and were given a blessing. Gosh I miss my own mom. :'(

blurbs
I am such a bad judge of age. :)
You should never put your laptop on your lap's bare skin when your back is resting on your metal window frame. Unless you want to get a kick out of it though.
I guess I should now post my Banahaw experiences. Yeah, it's long overdue, but who cares, right?
So it all started with my panicking. Nothing really bothers me more than waking up to find out I've overslept (which I have been doing lately, btw). I planned on waking up at around 4 o'clock (we were supposed to leave at 6:30) so I have time to prepare myself, fix my things, and hit Starbucks before I go to school. Alas, the sun was already up when my melatonin levels went down (obviously). So I panicked and realized that it was summer and the days are longer! So it was only 5. No biggie. After about 40 minutes of preparation time, I was ready! So imagine my surprise (and dismay?) when I went out to see people STILL DRINKING on the streets. These people are committing slow suicides. :(
Anyway, when the bus left I closed my eyes for a bit. After opening them, voila! I am completely lost. No, not really lost. I just don't know where we were, that's all. I am so getting tired of typing already. :(
Anyway, when we stopped to pick up the some people, we decided to eat breakfast!
So zoom na to the Banahaw experience already! :)
When we arrived (at last), our butts were already sore and we couldn't wait to get out. Realizing that someone special was singing on the screen (yes we were watching Les Miserables on the bus), Danni exclaimed "Uy, si Lea!" Yeah, right. It was just her nth appearance and he just noticed. :D
So our first stop was to the ________ (okay I forgot the name of the...uhm...religion? sect?). The group's one of the Rizalistas in the place. Anyway, we were just sitting there listening to him drone on, waging war against OUR own religion. The conclave wasn't an election, so the guy said. Oh really now. Whatever.
And there was this group (Ciudad Mystica de Dios, but the formal name was so much longer) led by a matriarch. Finally, something different. Anyway, they call her Suprema and we weren't able to meet her because I guess she was off attending to some Suprema business.
Before heading to the Mystica house though, we stopped to eat blessed dirty ice cream. They weren't really blessed though. But you would think if you spent n hours under the sun. :D The guy selling the stuff had really long nail. And they were painted. With 2 colors. Amaaaaaazing.
So next was lunch. We had fried chicken and sinigang. The soup was transferred from _________ (what do you use to cook soup?) to the bowls with a dipper. Yes,
tabo. But we really didn't care. We were hungry, and we were cranky. Ha, and there tables didn't have any more space to accommodate the rest of us! So we had to improvise. Basta, mahirap kumain.
After lunch we were STRONGLY advised to have our bathroom breaks because we can't do it on the mountain. So off we went (Joanne, Ced and moi) to find acceptable bathrooms. And the trail led us back to the Mystica house. And for the second time in my life, I had to line up to go potty. Very inconvenient, but whatever. I wasn't looking forward to urinating against a wall.
Unfortch for us, we got lost. Yes, the three of us. Ms. Guide-in-Green told us to go somewhere and we found a place with Star Margarine drapes. So we thought that was the entrance to the mountain. How grand. :D But apparently, it was just an entrance to a pig sty. So we were really lost. I thought we were going to the caves together. And now were lost. So we had to make friends with the other NBPs or else us three would have to be alone. Yey, 2 weeks of PI already gone and it was just then when we got lost did we have the guts enough to make friends. Yey us.
So we decided to go to the caves alone. Sans Ms. Guide-in-Green (this girl with us already went before though why she was with us for her second time I have no idea). But luckily, as we were walking towards the mountain "entrance" Ate Green decided to show up. Hurrah!
So off we went blazing trails. We were so excited! At last, a REAL field trip. We were looking forward to being in the mountain proper. And all the while we were shouting the class cheer with only 3 people. Great. At last when we thought we have covered enough distance already, we decided that we were already in the mountain proper. But alas, water pipes were still present. So walk on we did.
When we arrived at the shed (there are two: one at the exit and one at the entrance of the cave; we went the exit shed first), we were told by baggage personnel Joan and Lorraine to leave everything behind. So after that we went to the entrance shed. And voila! Everyone was there. Apparently the girls had to go first (the rationale escapes me) so the boys had to stay behind. I was so happy to be reunited with the rest of the class. :D
The going was slow and just when there were about 15 people left outside the cave, it started to rain hard. So we went back to the shed. When we thought that we, the dry ones, were the only left outside the cave we decided to push through. Wrong decision though. Marami pa pala yung hindi nakakapasok and it was too late to go back because we were already wet. So we just had to wait while being wet by the brutal downpour. It was so cold so we just had to entertain oursleves. Miggy told stories about us having powers. Basta amazing yung abilities ko. :D
At last, pwede na kaming pumasok. So there we were. Danni, moi, Miggy, Dindong, and Ivan. And it was not easy. Husgado (or is it with a "J?") is a very narrow passage that we had to go through. When you emerge without any scratch, then you are said to be pure. But when emerge with any, kahit maliit, makasalanan ka daw. I thought it was just hole though rocks on level ground. But no! There were ups and down, left's and right. And it was really scary. But anyway, I made it with 3 scratches thought. So I'm a sinner. What's new? :)
Danni went before me so I got to see how it was supposed to be done. His ass was stuck between rocks along the way, but I was as suave as hell. HAHAHA. I was just a few seconds behind him and when we were out of the cave, familiar faces greeted us. Joanne, Ced, and the baggage ladies were waiting for us but Miggy, who went after me, was nowhere in sight. So when we decided na grabe antagal ni Miggy makalabas, Danni went back to help. And after a few minutes, out came a harassed Miggy. :D And after a few seconds Dingdong, Ivan, NBPs and the guides emerged to. So off to the falls for a shower!
But along the way to the falls Miggy realized he lost his wallet. He had to go back while the rest of us moved on. And when were near the falls we saw houses! Yes, civilization! And before we braved the downwards stairs leading to the river and falls, we encountered stores who sold A LOT. Interpretation: they sold anting-anting-looking stuff, food, shorts and even underwear. Some people can be so unprepared that these people foresaw the need to sell these stuff? I guess.
Needless to say, the stairs were narrow and steep. And there were a lot of steps. So after what seemed like and eternity, we heard voices and saw people. At last, the river! But it was all brown and sludgy and stuff. But I declared that it was just the rain that stirred up the mud, so off we jumped to the water, clothes and pants on!
There were mini rapids there and we decided to make them improvised jacuzzis. Yes we can be so innovative at times. :D
The rest were leaving but lalalala. We can't here anything. But when this text-crazed guide decided to start to leave us, we had to scamper for our things and leave. I had to change clothes right then and there, too. Needless to say, the climb back to civilization was a harder task. But the girls managed to do it even with we clothes on.
Apparently, there was a short cut from the falls to where our buses were parked. We took the long way because of the cave! So imagine our dismay when we realized that. But there was still the question of where to change. So we decided to go to a random house and ask if we could use the bathroom. The owner was kind enough to allow us. She even offered us water. It's nice to see that no matter what suffering us humans go through, some can always afford to be kind. :D
So nung bumalik na kami sa bus, we were beat, and when the engine was humming, so did we. Unfortch for us, we had to see this film starred by Erap and Coseteng. Ech. Nobody gave a damn, and everyone was asleep. Or so I wished. Some VERY HAPPY people were shouting all the way to Manila. Snaps for your virtue of URBANITY.
Anyway, I never thought I could be so happy to see the Supreme Court. Or UPM. Or PGH. Or even Malate. Dorm Sweet Dorm.

are we supposed to:
a. stay the same because we should be loved as we are? no revamps. no upgrades.
b. change for the better? or even change at all?
a. sleep?
b. stare ?
a. let things straighten themselves out?
b. put up a fight and try as hard as hell to stay upright?
a. move on without giving it x more shots?
b. put up a fight and try as hard as hell to stay upright?
a. trust someone and be free of envy?
b. be jealous as hell because we can't help it and because jealousy is the twin of love is a good excuse? (it's what we do with what we feel is more important, right?)
a. type an entry?
b. go to Ministop and buy ice cream? :D

Forgiveness
People are stupid. They simply are. And on the premise of being stupid, they do stupid things. This is what makes us human: our stupidity. See? Cliche. And that's what makes things cliche: truth.
Sabi ni Jenny: Love means never having to say you're sorry.
Sabi ng Mae: Forgiveness will be the thing that gets us by.
Sabi ni Terry Goodkind: There is magic in forgiveness, magic in the forgiveness you give more so in the forgiveness you receive.
Sabi ni Aunt Mae (ata): You must learn to forgive yourself.
Uso kasi ang magkasala. OP ang mga santo dito. So if there are things much more important than that one person you try to keep at the back of your mind but nevertheless keeps on resurfacing like a persistent buoy, fine. Stay pissed. Di naman pala mahalaga yung taong yun eh. But if otherwise (as in complement na 1-x), then forgive. Fine, it's not that easy to do. But then again, are you in a state of ease right now?
Spiderman Grabe things just manage not to disappoint you. They even manage to bring you on the verge of tears at times. HS memories, hello again.
Sticky, Dusty Feet Since it's the middle of summer, you would love to wear light clothes to school, no? So you wear shorts and flip flops. And a top, of course. So imagine this disgusting scene (go away if you don't want to, duh): you wear these clothes inside very cold, air-conditioned rooms. Then a few seconds after a class ends, you scamper to the door wishing that the next teacher wouldn't show up. The the moment you step outside (where the temperature is greater than your own body heat :D), the cold air around your ankles and feet condenses to make make your epithelium a living fly-paper. Gross. Then imagine walking along Padre Faura where the sidewalk is getting beefed up (whether it's for elections, I have no idea). So naturally all these construction thingies are littered virtually everywhere. And one of these paraphernalia is a huge pile of sand. So sticky feet + dust = your private mudslide. Ech. Why oh why.
Avid Fan Why does Lorraine not post entires anymore? I miss reading her blurbs. :(
English Paper So for the third time in my UP life, I have passed a paper written in English for a course exclusively under my block's experience. Change is great. :D

why do we do this? we don't have to get anything in return. basta it makes us gooey and all that sh*t inside. so let things die down and then see what happens.
